Agenda Item Summary:
The City of Rapid City has determined the need to procure professional technical services for water facilities. City of Rapid City currently owns and operates more than 70 water pumping, pressure reducing, storage and air relief facilities. Needs arise to answer questions pertaining to these facilities that require expertise in multiple discipline areas including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, surge, hydraulics, pump design, materials of construction, and facility operation. This contract provides a resource for the City to answer these technical questions. Examples of the types of objectives this contract will provide support for include verification of pump curves, system head curves, pump lead lag operation, variable frequency drive (VFD) operation, soft start operation, controls narratives, pipe pressure class, surge analyses.
