Agenda Item Summary:
Additional boiler piping needed to be replaced for spacing requirements. Because of this the decision was made to replace the Hot Water Supply piping and the Hot Water Return piping with stainless steel. The functionality of two 3-way mixing valves did not meet the existing conditions and the internal valve components needed to be replaced. The project specifications indicated that the Owner would pay for testing. It was decided to have the Contractor complete the testing through a third party tester. The Contractor had originally included a City sales tax in the contract. The project was located outside of the City so a City sales tax credit is provided. The project specifications indicated that the Owner would pay for the project permit fees. The Contractor paid the permit fees so a reimbursement for the cost of these fees is appropriate. The project contract contained a line item for contingency. The contingency is being applied to this charge order. The contract completion date is extended by 15 days to account for supply chain issues not under the control of the contractor.
