Agenda Item Summary:
A request was received in the Engineering Office on October 19, 2021 requesting the requirement to install sidewalk along 225 St. Lots 1 and 2 of the Hulm Subdivision per City of Rapid City Ordinance 12.08.060 be waived. A four-foot wide sidewalk is required to be constructed along 225th St, at the time of application to divide an existing 40-acre parcel into 2 lots, with the property having approximately 5283 feet of frontage along 225th St. All of the properties along 225th St. currently have no sidewalk in place. The property owner is looking to divide a 40-acre parcel into 2 lots triggering the need to install sidewalk. The requested variance will allow for parcel division without the installation of sidewalk in the adjacent 225th St. right-of-way. The adjacent 225th St. is a two lane, gravel, rural street section with no sidewalks and topographical conflicts. The closest sidewalk is roughly 3.15 miles to the west in Prairie Meadows Subdivision.
