A request was received in the Engineering Office on September 08, 2021 requesting the requirement to install sidewalk along W. Glen Place per City of Rapid City Ordinance 12.08.060 be waived. Sidewalk is required to be constructed along W. Glen Place , at the time of building permit, with the property having approximately 104 feet of frontage along Pine W. Glen Place. All of the properties along W. Glen Place are developed along with said property and no sidewalks in place. The property owner is looking to build an oversized garage on the property triggering the need to install sidewalk. The requested variance will allow for construction on the property without the installation of sidewalk in the adjacent W. Glen Place right-of-way. The adjacent W. Glen Place is a two lane, paved, rural street section with no sidewalks and topographical conflicts. The closest sidewalk is roughly 3400 feet to the east on Winestone Ln..
