Agenda Item Summary:
A request was received in the Engineering Office on August 31, 2020 requesting the requirement to install sidewalk along Glenside Street per City of Rapid City Ordinance 12.08.060 be waived. A four-foot wide sidewalk is required to be constructed along Glenside Street, at the time of building permit, with the property having approximately 103 feet of frontage along Glenside Street. All of the properties in the Marshall Subdivision have no sidewalks, they are rural street segments, and most properties are graded for ditches with no sidewalks. There are no sidewalks in the vicinity for this sidewalk to tie into. Public Works staff recommends approval of the sidewalk variance request.
