Agenda Item Summary:
On May 20, 2020, the applicant submitted a Request for Exception to Section 2.16 of the City of Rapid City Infrastructure Design Criteria Manual (IDCM) to allow two driveway approaches for a residential lot for the purposes of creating a circular driveway. The Exception Request was denied on May 27, 2020; see attached Exception Request. IDCM requires 200 feet of frontage for a 2nd approach, and this lot has less than 150 feet. Driveway approaches in the vicinity of T-intersections is common throughout the City in residential areas, so there’s nothing extraordinary which would warrant granting an exception to approve a 2nd approach.
