Agenda Item Summary:
The South Dakota Department of Transportation has received an apportionment of Highway
Infrastructure Program funds and is distributing these funds among 62 counties and 22 cities and
towns. The program funds are to be used for the replacement, rehabilitation or preservation, or
for matching funds, for bridges classified in poor condition on the 12.31.2017 National Bridge
Inventory. The City of Rapid City will receive $164,124.96 in funding and has three bridges that
are currently eligible to use these funds on. The funding will need to be used within three years
of receipt or must be returned to the State.
