Agenda Item Summary:
On October 3, 2018 a Request for Exception was received to leave Dyess Avenue existing with a 22’ pavement width to keep a continuous pavement width and therefore not add pavement and install curb, gutter and street light conduit since it would not be improved to the minor arterial requirements.
Dyess Avenue is a minor arterial and is required by the Rapid City IDCM to be constructed with a minimum 36-foot wide paved surface, curb, gutter and street light conduit. Therefore the Exception Request was denied.
On October 24, 2018 the applicant submitted an appeal request. Public Works recommends denial of this request.
