Agenda Item Summary:
In June, 2016 Black Hills Lacrosse contacted the Parks and Recreation Department to begin discussions about a proposed lease for field space for the growing lacrosse program in Rapid city.
The proposed lease agreement being considered at this time for the Star of the West Sports Complex is the result of several meetings between city staff and representatives from the lacrosse organization. The lease for this field space was relinquished by Soccer Rapid City when the new soccer complex was constructed. The proposed lease does include requirements for BH Lacrosse to maintain the property.
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board voted unanimously on March 9, 2017 to recommend approval of the proposed lease agreement.
