Agenda Item Summary:
Letter of Map Revisions were approved by FEMA which resulted in significant changes to the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA,100-year Floodplain) in three neighborhoods in Rapid City. The neighborhoods are located in the South Canyon area (Pierre St, Capital St, N 48th, Staton Pl, Hall St, Brookside Dr and Reder St), the South Robbinsdale area (E Nebraska St and E Centennial St) and the Haines Ave area (East Blvd, Lemmon Ave, Blaine Ave, Willsie Ave and Wood Ave). The new floodplain mapping was based on updated topographic data and revised hydrologic and hydraulic analyses. As a result of the new mapping, several structures and/or properties were removed from the 100-year Floodplain.
