Agenda Item Summary:
The SDDOT recently updated the traffic signal warrant analysis for the intersection of Elk Vale Rd. and East Minnesota Street and found that warrants are met to install the traffic signal. City Staff has estimated the cost of the design and installation of the signal to be $$399,915. $320,000 is available in the Streets CIP for Traffic Operations Upgrades budgeted for 2016 and 2017. An additional $79,915 will be necessary from Streets CIP to fully fund the traffic signal. Staff recommends utilizing $399,915 from Streets CIP for this project.
