Agenda Item Summary:
Revise Paragraph 7.40 of Section 7 - General Conditions of the City of Rapid City Standard Specifications to allow the Contractor to perform not less than 35% of the work with his own organization instead of the standard 50% for the 5th Street & Catron Blvd Traffic Signal Modification Project. The project includes modifications to the existing traffic signal, sanitary sewer improvements, drainage improvements and concrete work to accommodate development to the south. Because the project consists of multiple subcontractor disciplines it may be difficult for Contractors to meet the 50% requirement, therefore Staff is requesting that this percentage be reduced to 35%. Staff believes it is in the best interested of the City to reduce this requirement.
