Updated 09/04/2024: All added text is shown within [brackets] and all removed text is shown within (parentheses). The proposed amendment will add usable open space requirements to the Office Commercial District for multi-family dwellings and assisted living centers. This added requirement will be the same as the existing usable open space requirements in all other zoning districts that allow stand-alone multi-family dwellings and assisted living centers and will read as follows: “For multi-family dwellings there shall be usable open space (provided for each dwelling unit) of not less than 400 square feet [for each dwelling unit]. For assisted living centers there shall be usable open space (provided for each room/suite) of not less than 170 square feet [for each room/suite]. Open space does not include drives, parking, and service areas. Not more than 50% of the open space requirement shall be met with common interior spaces limited to community rooms, central dining areas, and craft rooms.”
