Agenda Item Summary:
The applicant has submitted a Rezoning request to change the zoning designation from General Commercial District to Office Commercial District on an 11.98 acre property located along the north side of Camden Drive, east of East Anamosa Street and west of East North Street. The adjacent lots to the north, south, and east are zoned General Commercial District and are void of structural development. The adjacent lot to the west is zoned Light Industrial District and is void of structural development. Currently, the subject property is void of structural development. The Future Land Use Plan designates the property to the west as Light Industrial, and this property and the adjacent properties to the north, south, and east as Mixed-Use Commercial. Mixed-Use Commercial identifies the Office Commercial District as a secondary use. As such, rezoning the property from General Commercial District to Office Commercial District is generally in compliance with the City’s adopted Comprehensive Plan.
