The applicants are requesting a Conditional Use Permit to allow an over-sized garage. In particular, the applicants are proposing to construct a two-story residential structure consisting of a downstairs garage and workshop and an upstairs dwelling. The applicants reside in the single-family house directly south of this parcel, and are building the proposed dwelling to house their daughter’s family. The proposed building will have a footprint of 3,100 square feet, which exceeds the maximum allowed 1,500 square feet of garage area. The upstairs dwelling will consist of two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a library, a rec room, and living space. The property is currently void of any structural development. The applicants have stated that the garage will not be used for commercial purposes. The applicants have also submitted an elevation drawing identifying that the garage will be constructed in the same style as the upstairs dwelling.
