The applicant requests to annex a 178 acres of un-platted property that is contiguous to the Rapid City corporate limits, and within the Urban Services boundary. The subject property is located southwest of Rapid City, north of Sheridan Lake Road and north of the Highpointe Ranch Subdivision. The property is zoned Agricultural in Pennington County District. The City’s Future Land Designation for the property is Low Density Neighborhood. All annexed lands are put into a No-Use zoning district temporarily. There are two re-zone applications being reviewed contemporaneously with this annexation petition to rezone the property from No-Use District. This annexation petition meets the requirements in State Law and Rapid City’s Annexation Policy.
