Agenda Item Summary:
The applicant has submitted a Variance request to waive the requirement to pave circulation aisles as per Chapter 17.50 of the Rapid City Municipal Code. In particular, the applicant is proposing to construct a new building measuring 2,600 square feet in size for a landscape contractor. The back side of the property will be developed with a landscape material storage yard. The applicant is requesting a Variance to waive the requirement to pave the circulation aisle through the storage area. In order to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy and to occupy the proposed building, all improvements must be in place. The applicant has indicated that they would be willing to pave the circulation aisle after two years. The applicant is proposing a surfacing material of either one-inch clear rock or asphalt millings.
