Agenda Item Summary:
The applicant has submitted a Variance request to reduce the minimum required side yard setback that abuts a street from 20 feet to 6 feet. In particular, the applicant is proposing to rebuild a dwelling that was destroyed in a fire. In addition to the dwelling, the applicant is proposing to construct a two-stall attached garage on the south side of the property as it abuts Fairview Street. Fairview Street is not constructed in this area. The applicant has also submitted plans for review by the Historic Preservation Committee and will be on the August 20, 2018 City Council agenda for review and approval. Staff will update the Planning Commission at the August 23, 2018 meeting with the results of the City Council meeting.
