Agenda Item Summary:
The applicant has submitted a Conditional Use Permit to allow a carwash in the General Commercial District. In particular, the applicant is proposing to construct a one-lane drive-thru tunnel carwash measuring 2,596 square feet in size. The development will include a three-lane covered pay station attached to an office building measuring 1,975 square feet in size with 9 vacuum stalls located on the south side of the proposed carwash. The hours of operation will be Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The applicant is also proposing a pole sign with an electronic reader board sign measuring 60 square feet in size. The Planning Commission has directed staff to bring all requests for electronic reader board signs proposed within a Conditional Use Permit before the Planning Commission for consideration. The property is zoned General Commercial District and is approximately 21,350 square feet in size. The property is the former location of a “Tidal” fuel station which has since been demolished.
