Agenda Item Summary:
The applicant has submitted a Final Planned Development Overlay to allow an over-sized garage. In particular, the applicant is proposing to construct a carport measuring 18 feet by 25 feet. There is an existing 860 square foot dwelling located on the property and a garage, shed, and workshop measuring a total of 606 square feet. The Zoning Ordinance defines any accessory building or part of a main building used primarily for storage, as a “private garage”. The proposed carport will increase the storage space on the property to 1,056 square feet exceeding the footprint of the dwelling. In addition, the applicant is requesting an Exception to waive the requirement to pave the first 50 feet of the driveway.
