Agenda Item Summary:
The applicant has submitted a Final Planned Development Overlay to construct a drive-in restaurant in the General Commercial District. In particular, the applicant is proposing to construct a “Sonic” restaurant measuring 1,608 square feet in size with indoor and outdoor seating and a drive-thru window. The proposed development will include a 12-stall drive-in service area with a canopy. The applicant is requesting an Exception to reduce the minimum required side yard setback that abuts East North Street from 25 feet to 6 feet and to reduce the minimum required front yard setback from Century Road from 25 feet to 19 feet for the proposed canopy.
