Agenda Item Summary:
The applicant has submitted this request for a Conditional Use Permit to allow an oversized garage on an approximate 1.38-acre parcel zoned Low Density Residential District. Today the property is developed with an existing single family residence and attached garage. The applicant is proposing to construct an additional detached garage on the property measuring 40 feet by 46 feet, totaling 1,840 square feet. With the existing 20-foot by 30-foot existing garage on the site, a total of 2,440 square feet of garage space is being proposed on the property. A maximum of 1,500 square feet of garage and/or storage is permitted on a residentially zoned property. As such, the applicant has requested this Conditional Use Permit. No additions or expansions of the existing single family residence and attached garage are being proposed as a part of this request. During the June 9, 2016 Planning Commission meeting, an additional stipulation of approval was included requiring that a landscaping buffer be provided along the southern property line.
