Agenda Item Summary:
The City of Rapid City received a road name change application requesting the portion of “S Highway 16” from Tower Road to the City Limit near Sammis Trail be changed to “Mount Rushmore Road”. The request essentially is to continue Mount Rushmore Road south to the city limit. This would effectively eliminate the section currently named/called – S Highway 16 south of the Tower Road bridge within the City. Staff notified all affected addresses via first class mail. Staff also hosted an Open House on September 15, 2016. As of September 15, 2016, staff received no comments for against this proposal.
