Agenda Item Summary:
The applicant requests to annex approximately 7.4 acres of South Dakota rail banked railroad right-of-way, South Dakota Highway 44 right-of-way, and the service road adjacent to and north of South Dakota Highway 44. The applicant has requested the annexation of this right-of-way so that the property is located within a proposed tax increment district boundary. A South Dakota Department of Transportation (SD DOT) road construction project for the adjacent service road should be completed within the year. The service road is included within a newly developed road district. This district may be responsible for future maintenance of the service road.
