Why important for the city: Funds will be used to build out the RCPD Crisis Intervention Team. The officers will work more closely with PIVOTPOINT, Journey-On, and the VOA/GPTLHB case managers on the City Co-response program. This pilot will allow for more coordination and street-level coordination.
CIT Officer duties:
- Provide traditional co-response interventions with case managers.
- Conduct Department and community CIT training.
- Conduct follow-ups and proactive responses to our high-utilizer crisis calls.
