Agenda Item Summary:
On February 6, 2023, City Council approved an agreement with Innovative Nonprofit, who functions as a valued partner in developing nonprofit capacity to support long-term sustainable community impact and delivering Community Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative (CVIPI) grant monies to Journey On as the subcontracted partner.
Additional grant monies have become available due to staff vacancy. This revised agreement would allow for currently unallocated funds to be reallocated in order to support the continuing capacity building needs of the RCPD Community Engagement Division and Journey On, as identified in the original grant agreement.
Capacity building activities will continue to focus on supporting Journey On with Board and strategic development to enable continuity and sustainability of programming, as well as implementation of youth programming, to include the Safe Passage and High-Risk Intervention programs. Continuing support to the RCPD Community Engagement Division will focus on advancing project goals, data collection, marketing and strategic planning. All previous terms of the original contract remain in effect, as this reallocation provides additional support for already-approved purposes.
