Agenda Item Summary:
Twice a year the staff presents proposed amendments to the City fee schedule. The resolution presented includes modifications to fees charged by five departments.
• The Police Department is requesting a single change to reduce the fee for accident reports to align with state statute.
• The Community Development Department is requesting one fee to be removed as they no longer issue that particular contractor license and another fee to be removed as they no longer proctor the test.
• The Fire Department is proposing to adjust rates for various services to align with negotiated rates with the South Dakota Department of Public Safety Wildland Fire.
• The Parks and Recreation Department has several requested edits. Many of the edits are language revisions to enhance clarity. The swim center includes some new fees with the addition of new services. The Cemetery Division has several fee adjustments to account for increasing operational costs (salaries, supplies, utilities, etc.). The Golf Division has increased costs to account for its increasing operational costs. As enterprise funds, the fees generated need to cover the costs incurred. The Parks and Recreation Divisions also have new costs for new services provided (detailed explanation is attached).

The Airport Board is reviewing their current rate schedule and is anticipating presenting an amendment for their fees later this year.
