Agenda Item Summary:
The City purchased two trollies in 2007 and an additional one in 2009 for use in city tours. The City has operated the trollies less often in the recent past due to a number of factors including lack of available staff and cost. Visit Rapid City wishes to purchase the trollies to continue operating them. After the purchase, Visit Rapid City would like to rent space from the City at 760 Centre Street to park them when not in use.
Council approved the surplusing and sale of the trolleys at the 4/3/23 Council meeting. This is seeking authorization to enter into a lease to allow Visit Rapid City to park the trolleys at 760 Centre Street.
