Agenda Item Summary:
The Rapid City Code of Conduct for Elected Officials was originally adopted in 2012. There have been a handful of complaints filed since the adoption of the Code and based on those experiences a decision was made to make some revisions to the Code. In addition to generally cleaning up and reorganizing the Code, the revisions require the complaint to be made on a form provided by the City and must be sworn on oath, provide clarification on the confidentiality of the complaint, allows Council leadership to dismiss a complaint without necessitating a full investigation, and requires Council leadership to inform the rest of the Council what action, if any, is being taken on a complaint.
