Agenda Item Summary:
At the November 8th Youth City Council meeting, the following motion brought forward from the YCC Health & Wellness was passed unanimously by present voting members.
“The Rapid City Youth City Council is requesting the approval of an expenditure in the amount of $400 for the Health and Wellenss Committee for their entertainment bag project in collaboration with Monument Health.”
This would be considered a community engagement expenditure from the approved 2022 YCC budget. There are many families in Rapid City who find themselves in a situation when a hospital is needed, whether it be for a standard procedure, treatment, or emergency care, it can be a struggle for families in those situations to distract and entertain their children. The Youth City Council see it as our duty, in partnership with Monument Health, to supply those families with child entertainment packages to ease the stress for children with loved ones in need of medical care.
