Agenda Item Summary:
The Rapid City Fire Department is requesting permission to purchase a 4 story 5 level fire training tower for $908,000 through GSA from American Fire Training Systems, Inc. (FEDHARMONY). Funding for this training tower will come from the 2022 legislative session, SB 51 which was passed to appropriate $850,000 from the South Dakota Department of Public Safety to grant to the Rapid City Fire Department the money to purchase and build this fire training tower and burn room. The additional $58,000 will be funded through CIP monies slated to build out the Department’s training facility.
