Agenda Item Summary:
With this change, the members of City Council, and their eligible beneficiaries, would be allowed to enroll in the City’s health insurance plan. The rates would be the same as a full-time City employee. Members would join on the 1st of the month following election, and would be removed from the plan on the last day of the month at the conclusion of their term. City Council members, and beneficiaries, would be eligible for COBRA continuation, but would not be eligible to remain on the plan as a Retiree.
