Agenda Item Summary:
On Monday, January 6, 2020 the Rapid City Council approved Ordinance No. 6370 “An Ordinance to Revise the Composition of the Downtown Business Improvement District Board by Amending Section 3.25.060 of the Rapid City Municipal Code.” The ordinance established new membership requirements for appointments to the Downtown Business Improvement District. As the ordinance becomes effective, the following changes to the structure of Board’s membership are necessitated: 1. The board shall consist of five owners of property within the business area; 2. Three shall own property within Zone 1; 3. Two shall own property within Zone 2; 4. A single property owner who owns property in both zones may be appointed to represent either zone; and 5. A property owner includes the following: • An officer or director of a corporate property owner; • A manager or member of a limited liability company that owns property; • A partner of a partnership that owns property; and • A person designated in writing as the representative of an owner of property within the District. Please confirm the appointments of Dan Tribby, Todd Hollan, Jerry Schmidt, Nick Patton, and Rick DenHerder to the Downtown Business Improvement District Board.
