Agenda Item Summary:
Whereas the Simplified Living Program requires current market value appraisals for properties to be purchased and/or transferred to non-profit organizations for development, the CDBG Program division has solicited bids for appraisals for the 2018 activities and Voegele Appraisal’s bid has been accepted.
Letters were mailed to all local appraisers requesting bid submissions. No responses were received. Staff then called three agencies to again invite them to submit bids. One agency never returned the calls. One agency returned the call but did not submit a bid. Voegele Appraisal was the only agency to submit a bid. Their bid is not out of line with normal real estate appraisal costs in the local market, they are a well-established and respected agency, and the agency and its principals are not listed on the HUD debarment list, so the bid meets HUD procurement requirements.
