Agenda Item Summary:
Amended policy to add section 5.4) Effective January 1, 2018, The DOT required added testing for semi-synthetic opioids (i.e., hydrocodone, hydromorphone, oxymorphone, and oxycodone) to the panel. As this is a legal drug, if there is a positive result, the Medical Review Officer (MRO) will verify if there is a legitimate medical explanation for the results. If a valid prescription is available, it can be provided to the MRO for further review. If a legitimate medical explanation is established, the MRO will report the result to your employer as a ‘negative’. If not, the MRO will report the result to your employer as ‘positive’.
