Agenda Item Summary:
This ordinance change will line the city’s purchasing procedures up with state bid law changes. There are different bid limits for equipment and supplies, and the current ordinance does not allow for a distinction between the two. The ordinance, coupled with the recently approved change to department directors’ contracting authority ordinance, will complete the changes needed to align director authority with state law regarding competitive bidding.
