Agenda Item Summary:
On June 24, 2021, the applicant submitted a Request for Exception to Section 2.16 of the City of Rapid City Infrastructure Design Criteria Manual (IDCM) to allow a driveway approach with less than 50’ of clearance to College Avenue. The Exception Request was denied by staff; see attached Exception Request. IDCM requires 50 feet of clearance from the intersecting street. Approval of this request will result in an approach approximately 30-35 feet from College Avenue and 10-15 feet from the crosswalk. Staff recommends access be taken from the alley in a compliant manner.
