Agenda Item Summary:
Pennington County currently holds a tax sale certificate for a property that abuts Sheridan Lake Road and purportedly includes City drainage easements and a utility easement. The Public Works Department recommends purchasing the assignment of this certificate. The tax certificate currently totals around $2,835.09. The City would be able to deduct approximately $1,367 for amounts owing to the City for City special assessment-type charges. The City would also be able to deduct other taxes owing to the City. Thus, the amount paid by the City to the County would likely be less than $1,400.
