Agenda Item Summary:
Rapid City Fire Department is requesting to apply, and accept if awarded, the SD DOH-CHW Grant up to the amount of $50,000. This is a non-cost matching grant, with no cost to the department or the city. The department will use the funds for the Mobile Medic program to allow 2 staff members to complete the Community Health Worker certificate program to bring a higher level of service to the community. This grant will provide for tuition, cost for staff, overhead, and also computer equipment for the program. This is a new program for the State of South Dakota, which is funded by federal funds through the CDC.
