Agenda Item Summary:
A request was received in the Engineering Office on April 08, 2021 to waive the requirement to install sidewalk which is a requirement of the Building Permit. Per City standards, a five-foot wide property line sidewalk is required to be constructed along Sweetbriar Street and along Avenue A at the time of Building Permit. The requested variance will waive the requirement to install 137 feet of sidewalk along Sweetbriar Street since Sweetbriar Street is a rural road with no sidewalks. The sidewalk along Avenue A will be installed since Avenue A was constructed to roadway standards with sidewalk. Staff recommends approval of this request since Sweetbriar Street is a rural road.
