Agenda Item Summary:
The Biden Administration has implemented the America’s Recovery Plan Act grant, more specifically, Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recover Funds, in which Rapid City has been allocated an estimated $13,024,994 to aid in our COVID-19 recovery efforts. This would authorize the Mayor and Finance Director to sign the application and accept the funds when distributed. The first half is to be distributed in 2021 and the second half in 2022. The City has until 2024 to spend the funds. Interim directions issued by the US Department of the Treasury outlines how the funds can and cannot be spent.
