Agenda Item Summary:
Mayor Allender sought citizen interest for a Human Relations Task Force in July of 2019, with the intent of the Task Force being in place for no more than one year. The scope of work defined was to evaluate the need for and effectiveness of the existing Human Relations Commission, in addition to evaluating the overall role the City should have regarding human relation matters. In August of 2019, six individuals were appointed to the Task Force. Since that time, the Task Force has met 17 times, and they have produced the attached recommendations and proposed complaint process in hopes of revamping the Human Relations Commission.
