Agenda Item Summary:
Emergency Management is announcing a new warning/notification system we are using in Rapid City and Pennington County. This system allows us to notify the right people at the right time with the right message. Whatever the situation, giving us the ability to protect people based on where they are located using text messaging, email, phone calls (both land line and cell phone) and allowing individuals to select other locations within Pennington County they would like to be notified regarding critical warning information. This new “Public Warning Messages” system enhances our already existing Emergency Messaging and Warning Systems in place.
