RAPID CITY-- The Downtown Parking Study and Strategic Plan project management team seeks 3-5 people to serve on a project Steering Committee. Application deadline is July 21, 2017.

The Committee’s role in the parking study will be to provide guidance on local parking issues, consider ideas and issues raised, and review the progress of the project.

Volunteers for these positions will be required to attend 2-3  Steering Committee meetings over the next 5-6 months. Committee members will not be asked to take on a technical role but will be asked to review findings and recommendations at key project milestones through the support of City staff and the Project Consultant, Walker Parking Consultants. Steering Committee members will be encouraged to assist with public outreach, attend the public open house, and act as project liaison by sharing information about the parking study process to the greater downtown stakeholder group and the Rapid City community at large. Ideal candidates will be individuals who are passionate about the current and future vibrancy and prosperity of downtown and who seek solutions for a healthy downtown parking system.

Interested citizens are encouraged to fill out a Citizen Interest Application online for consideration. Any questions regarding this matter can be directed to the Mayor's Office at 605-394-4110.
