TO: Holders of Standard Specifications

RE: Revisions to Standard Specifications

The City of Rapid City Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction has been revised.

The Standard Specifications and Standard Details may be downloaded from the City's website at www.rcgov.org, or hardcopies may be purchased for $50 per volume from the Engineering Services Division. A CD with the complete volume of the Standard Specifications, 2007 Edition, including Standard Details, in PDF format is also available.

The 2007 edition of the Standard Specifications will be effective on August 1, 2007 and shall apply as follows:

For all City funded design contracts awarded on or after August 1, 2007. The City may, at its discretion, require the use of the 2007 Edition Specifications on design contracts awarded prior to August 1, 2007.

For all City funded construction projects advertised for bids on or after August 1, 2007.

Work requiring a permit which is issued after August 1, 2007.

Work requiring a permit which is issued after August 1, 2007.

Preliminary Plats submitted after August 1, 2007.

Attached is a summary of the changes to the standard specifications. Each user of the specifications is strongly encouraged to review the specifications to determine whether the changes affect their work.
