DUI
With the holidays upon us and New Year’s Eve approaching, the number of impaired drivers on the roadway is likely to increase. If trends continue, approximately 70 people will be killed in alcohol related fatalities next year in South Dakota. Many of these fatalities occur on the weekends and during the holidays. The only way to prevent this is to not drink and drive.
Statistically, more than ten percent of drivers on the roadway during the weekend night time hours are legally impaired. There are plenty of options to get home safely if you plan on drinking. Plan on having a designated driver or calling a cab. The best way to not drink and drive is to make plans before drinking. Remember to buckle up, drive safely, and NEVER, EVER, drink and drive. Have a safe and happy New Year.
