Rapid City Area Air Quality OrdinancesThe City (Rapid City Municipal Code Chapters 8.34 through 8.44) and County (Pennington County Ordinance No. 12) Air Quality Ordinances were established in order to maintain a compliance status with the United State's Environmental Protection Agency's National Ambient Air Quality Standards and to prevent adverse health effects that result from fugitive dust emissions and smoke from wood burning and open burning.
