| Tai Chi & Qigong |
What is Tai Chi? Tai Chi is originally a famous martial art from China. It is now being used by millions as an effective exercise for health and recreation. It consists of fluid, gentle and graceful circular movements, relaxed and slow in tempo. Breathing is deepened and slowed, aiding visual and mental concentration, relaxing the body and allowing the Qi (a life energy inside the body) to flow unimpeded throughout the body. Where can I do Tai Chi? Tai Chi can be done almost anywhere and is suitable for almost everyone because the movements are slow and gentle and the level of exertion can be adjusted to suit each person's physical condition. Classes begin Sunday, September 11th at 11:00 AM and are held in the Multi-Purpose Room on second floor of the Rapid City Swim Center. A $2.00 donation for room rental is requested. If you have any questions, call the Recreation Office at 394-4168. |
