Ralph Cole Arboretum

Ralph Cole Arboretum is located near the intersection of Mountain View Road and Jackson Boulevard, near the entrance to the Rapid City Water Treatment Plant. Ralph Cole was a long-time west river resident who worked for the Soil Convservation Service. He was involved in re-establishing the floodway following the devastating flood of 1972. The arboretum was established in 1979 to show new varieties of trees and shrubs that grow well in this area.
