Congratulations to
Ronald E. Seibert

In partnership with the Veterans Coordination Commission, we are pleased to present the November, 2007 Veteran of the Month Recognition to Ronald E. Seibert.

Ron joined the US Air Force in May, 1961 and was assigned to the Aircraft Maintenance field and eventually qualified as Crew Chief on multiengine aircraft including the B-47, B-52, KC-35 and the EC-135. He served as Flight Engineer on the EC 135 and received the flight crew member badge. Ron's Air Force career was varied serving the bombers and tankers and later serving the missile field. He was assigned to various Air Force Bases in the United States plus Puerto Rico and England. He retired in 1981 while serving at Ellsworth Air Force Base as a Technical Sergeant.

Ron's decorations/ribbons and medals include: Air Force Commendation Medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award w/1 device, AF Good Conduct Medal w/1 silver device, National Defense Service Medal, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon w/4 devices, and Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. He was also awarded the Senior Missileman Badge during his assignment as Facility Manager to the missile sites.

Since retirement, Ron was employed by Knecht Lumber, Pennington County and Douglas School District where he retired after 17 years. Ron has been married to Betty Jo Drewry since 1964 and they have two children, daughter Diane and son Ronald (Ed).

Ron is a life member of TREA and was a one year Director on their Board in addition to serving on various committees. He is an active member of the Honor Guard and continuously volunteers for the TREA Auxiliary Breakfast once a month in addition to working the TREA Monday Night Bingo.
